Legal Expert: Why Trump’s Inner-circle is Testifying to Jan 6th Committee
In recent days, more former Trump Administration officials have started cooperating with the January 6th committee. Former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and former Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin are reportedly in talks with the committee.
Legal expert and former prosecutor Cynthia Alksne suggests that more and more former cabinet members, advisors and other inner-circle allies are talking to the committee because “they would rather go voluntarily than be subpoenaed.”
Additionally, the committee’s success and momentum is also playing a role in reeling in more witnesses.
There are more hearings to come in the fall.
