Defendant in 'Fake Electors' Case to Flip

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes has disclosed that a significant development in the Arizona fake electors case is on the horizon. Mayes confirmed that one of the 18 defendants involved in the scheme to submit fake electors during the 2020 election would soon become a cooperating witness for the prosecution. This announcement is anticipated to be a crucial turning point in the case.

"We are going to have a very significant announcement to make early next week," she stated, adding, "We're making progress in the case, and we feel good about the case."

The news has sparked reactions among legal experts, with Mark Kokanovich, a white-collar defense attorney at Ballard Spahr in Phoenix, suggesting that this development is a "pathway for other defendants" to seek leniency.

"The evidence is overwhelmingly strong... The first people through the door usually get the best deals," Kokanovich noted.
