The House Select Committee on January 6th held its third public hearing on Thursday, June 16th to present the facts about former President Trump pressuring former Vice President Pence to overturn the 2020 election.
The Committee heard testimony from a former federal Judge and a former lawyer to the vice president, who both said Trump pressured Pence to overturn the election despite him and top White House advisors knowing the vice president had no power to change the results.

Witnesses testified that former Vice President Pence told former President Trump his plan to overturn the election was illegal multiple times.

The mob got about 40 feet away from Pence on January 6th, and Proud Boys leaders said they were willing to kill him if they had found him.

Former federal Judge J. Michael Luttig told the Committee: “I would have laid my body across the road before I would have let the vice president overturn the 2020 election on the basis of that historical precedent.”
The Committee revealed that when called on to testify, Trump’s lawyer, John Eastman, invoked his fifth amendment right against self-incrimination 100 times.
