Latest News: Trump Trials
Summary
On January 6th, 2021, a mob attacked the United States Capitol Building in an attempt to block the certification of the presidential election.
After President Donald Trump concluded his speech casting doubt on the integrity of the 2020 election and asking supporters to “walk down to the Capitol” and “take back our country,” a large group began marching towards the Capitol Building. The protesters quickly became violent, beating law enforcement, and demanding Vice President Mike Pence be hanged.
The attack resulted in the deaths of 5 Capitol police officers, caused approximately $1.5 million worth of damage to the U.S. Capitol building, and threatened the peaceful transfer of power for the first time in U.S. history.
Since the attack, the bipartisan January 6th Committee has investigated key players that incited the attack and the narratives they used to manipulate the American people. After months of investigation, the committee has released evidence to the American public through hearings. They released their full report with criminal referrals to the Department of Justice in December 2022.

SAVING OUR COUNTRY
Americans agree–we can not let something as unpatriotic as the January 6th riots ever happen again in our country. Violent protests solve nothing, especially when they are against the center of our nation’s capital. As we push to preserve election integrity across the United States, we must protect the processes that have guided our nation for so long and made us the shining city on a hill we are today. We must hold those who would raise a torch to our democracy accountable.
